RCA Transport completed the Transport Assessment for this development in a controversial location within Malvern Hills District. Given the nature of the development and the likelihood of an appeal it was considered important to submit a TA that was ‘right first time’, and more than adequately covered the transport issues.

This included a number of junction assessments, a detailed site visit and a review of all local services.

More importantly, given the location, it was considered essential to boost the sustainability credentials of the site to reduce the carbon footprint of the development through:

  • A commitment to 40% electric vehicle charging points to proposed properties,
  • Increased funding for community transport schemes totalling £20,000,
  • Improvements to link both new houses and existing village housing to the schools and doctors surgery through better walk and cycle links.

Though the final outcome of the overall planning application is not yet known, there are no outstanding highways objections to the development proposals.
